Panniers make the commute so much more enjoyable!
I picked up these awesome panniers from Velogear and gave them their first test yesterday on the ride to work (20km's Durack to Taringa)
I think I always used to dismiss the idea of panniers and luggage in general thinking it looked a bit daggy but I've really come round to the idea. And after yesterday's ride to work there's no looking back.
The panniers made the ride so much more comfortable and enjoyable. I love these things. The panniers I bought are by no means large in size or capacity but there's plenty of room for my work clothes on one side and my lunch and a few other necessities on the other.
I definitely recommend anyone who may be a little sceptical about this sort of luggage (for image or whatever reason) to seriously have a re-think.

I can definitely relate to the wheelies :)
Well worth getting a heavy bag off my back though. My back loves me for it!

Riding with panniers is a personel I guess, but I absolutely agree. All the bikes I commute on has at least a rack and pannier (and most of them have mudguards as well). The panniers do make the bikes a little light in the front end though - I often find myself accidently popping wheelies starting off uphill :)
