Cycling in Brisbane Australia
I recently had some ‘best-manly’ duties to perform in Sydney. I’ve been to Sydney a few times, sometimes as a tourist and sometimes for work. Usually when I visit towns and cities, I walk around them because, in my most humble opinion, it is the best way to explore places. All cities are slightly different in culture I think, though the layout of most Australian CBD’s are the same - romanesque where the streets are usually squared like an Imperial Roman Legion had built the place (and…Continue

Well, reality set in when I realised that I didn't have my helmet…
Well, I did the commute again this morning, boy it was definitely cold this time!!
And I have a first - I was aggressively honked at by an arrogant driver, in an SUV, of course. Seriously, why is it always the SUV drivers? Quite upsetting, really. It occurred just after a notoriously dangerous left turn from Turbot St onto Barry Parade. In fact, pedestrians have been hit by idiots coming around that corner too fast. I was pedaling hard trying to safely get over to the left side of the…Continue
This morning was the first time in a long while that I cycled into work. The trip takes over an hour so the behind is rather sorry:-( The ride home will certainly be even less comfortable...
My better half and I just spent a week tandem riding on the Clare Valley Riesling Trail about 110kms north of Adelaide South Australia.
We began by basing ourselves at the Rising Sun Hotel at Auburn. Lovely old historic hotel, clean and comfortable run by a wonderful family and staff providing excellent…Continue
