"Hi...I have a brompton folder and it is prob one of the best to use on buses as it folds and fits in the luggage racks. My previous folder..dahon..was too bulky in comparison..and would not fit in some luggage racks...(some bus drivers insist that…"

"I use a folding bike , BENDR,. I bought it from ALDI 2 years ago and have put on about 4500 km. I ride it every day and we take it camping/travelling with us where ever we go. I have worn the first set of tyres but other than that the bike has…"

Folding bikes for rough roads and decent distance

My friends and I are looking to start a bidniss out Coominya way. I want to stay true to my bike-to-work ways and have looked up how to get to Coominya by rail and rail-bus. I need another bike to get me to the location. I can't take my current bike because I can't take it on a bus. I'm looking at getting a folding bike specifically for this venture. I know that sometimes I'll have to take the car--it's a farm stay for dogs--but for days and weekends when I don't bring out my boys, I would like…See More

Electra Amsterdam 3i named Persephone Buttercup. She is both the queen of the dead and a dollop of sunshine.
Gazelle Fuente Pure named Imogen McDuffy for when I want to take the long way to work, ie use more than 3 gears.
Cinelli named Amelia Felicita Ucellatore (Amy Farrah Fowler) to introduce me to road cycling. She's so named because I named my husband's Felt Sheldon.
About Me :
Commuter only. I'm way to unco for road cycling (but I've decided to try it—eek!). I ride to and from work, shops, etc. I'm very interested in getting people to research their bikes to meet their needs. Too many bikes on eBay listed as "hardly used".
Recovering zen runner (broke my hip in the 2006 Honolulu Marathon but I FINISHED!), greyhound enthusiast, stitcher, Pulp Fiction Bookstore addict.
I have no time for people who bitch and moan about the nation's rising obesity problem and then ridicule overweight people running or riding.

Thank you, Damian.

So thankful that you opened up this Ning thing. Brisbane's needed it. I think it'll be easier to get help than in other forums. It's a great blend of road, mountain, and tooters (that's me--a commuter tooter).

Hi Katy

Welcome to the site!

Totally agree with your comment about people ridiculing someone trying to do something about their health and lifestyle. It's very sad.
