Jeff Moo replied to Shaun Moran's discussion Gazelle Fuente EM (Bosch) review
"Fantastic review. Was very interested to hear that the Fuente has QR skewers front and rear. My non-electric Gazelle has the hub gears, and removing a rear wheel is a major mechanical exercise. Removing the front is also a pretty big job. I see the…"

Jeff Moo replied to Justin T's discussion Need a padded saddle or seat cover recommendation
"Might I suggest that you commence riding your commute for a couple of weeks first. Road bikes have firm narrow saddles, and are frequently uncomfortable when you start. Wear quality cycling shorts and ensure that your sit bone width matches the…"
Jeff Moo replied to Richard Bean's discussion Riverwalk opening 21 September
"Quirk said that they owners open it using a phone call. He said 5-8 minutes to operate. I recall that the previous opening mechanism was used either once or not at all in anger for the life of the structure. It is probably more an exercise in…"

"I would have treated the balloon a bit like a tennis ball, or a soccer ball rolling onto the road- the distinct possibility of it being chased by a child. Just my 2 cents worth. I was driving inbound along Moggill Rd this morning and a roadie…"

Jeff Moo replied to Big Steve's discussion How was your commute?
"Rare commuter (myself). I am on jury duty for 2 weeks and had to go in on Monday. Rode my pedal Gazelle. Beautiful cool morning ride along the Bicentennial to the Courts in George St. Chained to the bike rack, then a 15m walk to the entrance. Rode…"

Jeff Moo commented on Stix's event Bent Riders Group Ride
"I enjoyed being able to ride slowly along the footpaths around the City and Valley, just sightseeing. Pedestrians saw that I could go very slowly or stop to let them pass without having to put a foot down, so seemed to feel less…"

Jeff Moo replied to Big Steve's discussion How was your commute?
"I agree with Paul. The cog teeth material can be metal or plastic as long as it is correctly engineered. An advantage of plastic cogs is a lesser need (perhaps no need) for lubrication, no corrosion plus some "give" in the system for…"

Jeff Moo replied to Taezar's discussion What I saw riding my bike - August 2014
"Henk, From my motorcycling days, I had an inbuilt "how seriously hurt am I?" measure. If I fell off and hoped that no one saw me, then I was fine. If I fell off, and hoped that someone did see me, then I was hurt and needed help. Had both…"

Jeff Moo commented on Stix's event Bent Riders Group Ride
"Trying to convince Jeremy (son) to attend on Sunday also. That way, both our bents can be there. If he does, then we won't go all the way to Woody Point. Will turn back when his (and my) non-recumbent legs start to hurt. Had my first long ride…"

About Me :
Keen, but not very fast. Ride with a group of workmates/others 2 or 3 times per week. We love to ride and eat. Do the 4 organised rides each year (BQ, MS, B2Ipsw, B2GC). My 13 yo rides with us now and then. Just did up an old CrMo framed road bike for him to grow into. See photos in "can anyone tell me what this frame is ?" He got a GT 29'er MTB for his 13th birthday. Those wheels are enormous! We both have recumbents now, and loving the comfortable ride. I really enjoy riding the Greenspeed. A pedal go-kart!
