Came across the always horrible sight this morning of an ambulance with the doors closing and a bike leaning up against the wall on the side of the road this morning. It was on Bennett's road where…Continue

So how was your New Years Day ride ?
The sensible thing to do of course is getting out the door early in the morning to get a good ride in before it gets hot and the wind picks up.
When was I ever sensible though ?
I spent the morning with the kids, taking them to the park (on bikes of course) and bumming around the house eating my way through the lovely ham we bought for Christmas. At about 1 I got on the bike to go for a…

Hey all
I've been a little absent here this month, my day job is keeping me busy as usual and this time of year is incredibly hectic for one of my "side jobs" which is running the website for this little event. Things on that front looked to be pretty stable on Tuesday night, so when Nick in his ever so subtle way suggested that we go…

It's been a fun day...
I had a couple of boxes on bike bits sitting around the house that arrived early this week from a wiggly establishment somewhere overseas.
What better way to spend a nice sunny winters day but fixing bikes!
First up is my roadie, needed a new freehub body which meant a cleaning and repacking the hubs. It also was due for a new chain. All done! It's shifting and rolling so much better now.
Second one, and the…

Time for a training update.
Last week was mostly successful in my daily training, a couple of days where the warm bed was too tempting over the cold rain outside. Need some improvement.
On Wednesday night I went to a Bikram yoga session. I used to practice Yoga a few years ago when I first started racing and I found it really helped my riding. I've not done it in a long time, and doing the 90 minute class in a hot room was quite a shock. Still, it had the…
ContinueThanks! Great looking little site. You must be quite the industrious type.

Hi Damian
The Merida reacto is a beautiful bike super stiff and fast. It's my very first road bike that I owned, and despite being 49 years young, I took it back home to the Pyrenees in France this year and climbed 3 majors mountains . No worries at all!! On the flat terrain it is very quick. I found this bike performed extremely well, and yes - i would recommend to anyone.
Sounds good i am based at caboolture North of Brisbane
Thanks Damian,
Was looking at your profile i too am from Sydney and moved up here to Brisbane, i previously worked at Bicycle NSW for 3 years and saw a opportunity up here in Queensland to start my own business.
Thanks
Hey Damo.... is it possible to tweak the back-end cod for the site so that links etc posted in an article open in a new tab/window by default?? Would make navigating the site a little more user-friendly..
Cheers
