I've ridden along there and it's bike path most of the way. It's an easy and picturesque ride :)

I'd be more worried about securing my bike at UQ than getting there.

Cycled from the Dutton Park R'way station to Logan Rd past the PA Hospital bus station. Both ends of the elevated path have hairpins to negotiate. The Dutton Park end may be 'temporary' (ie, may be replaced in 20 years time), when a better route over the railway to Boggo Rd precinct is built. But the O'Keefe St end is rather worse. I nearly didn't get there as road works obscured almost the whole path, halfway from the R'way Station and the elevated path hairpin. A nice piece of infrastructure rather spoiled by its entries/exits.

I was rather surprised to get swooped by a magpie while riding to work last Friday. Bit early in the season I thought. It was just at the Roma St Parkland end of the Bike Track that comes from behind Brisbane Grammar School. I'll have to see if it happens again this week.

Last (wet) Sunday, riding slowly down to Radnor St, Indro, near WT Bridge, a bunch of charity riders, shouting 'be careful, etc' one rider came down, bringing a couple more with him. He broke his right collarbone. The contributing factor was the newly painted black square, ready for a yellow BAZ sign, right on the apex...

Hi Katy, hopefully there's plenty of people here who ride to do all sorts of things. Perhaps we need a "Utility Cyclists" group? I'm afraid I can't offer any help with the south side, though, other than the suggestions already made.

Try EastBUG (info@eastbugseq.org.au). They've got a lot of local knowledge of that area.

I do my shopping locally, and by bike, but I don't patronise the so-called farmers markets, especially since riding past the West End markets when traders were setting up - so many delivery vans labelled with plain ordinary business's logos... I just go to my local F&V and other shops and (boringly) use routes I know well. But then, I don't actually like shopping, for anything except bikes!

Hey Thomas
I'm only commuting from Wynnum to Coorparoo at the moment, so probably can't help too much. But I've ridding around cities a bit, so if I can help out I'd be happy to.
