Hi there, I'm living in Perth so can't join the rides but I did want to mention my favourite cafe at West End.  They have just added 2 new long bike racks, which now provides lots and lots of space for bikes and equipment storage. Groups are comfortably seated in the outdoor setting amongst manicured gardens and they won’t be disappointed with the coffee served at the cafe as its been rated a local favourite amongst the West Enders.

I think they are even going to be offering special deals for cyclists soon.

Hey Hamster (seems wrong calling you that)

I'm always up for something new.  I do the Toombul to Sandgate stretch most Sundays and sometimes do Redcliffe from the other direction and I like Redcliffe rides.

I often do a shorter early ride on Saturdays when work and family commitments allow but happy to try something new. Or we could try a Sunday when I have two other socials who usually ride with me.

Are you thinking early (6am ish) or later (after 7am)?

Guys,

Just wondering if the Coffee Appreciation Society would be interested in a group ride? I have no real plans, but something like meet at the Cycling Circuit at Nundah then an easy ride on the bikeway along Schultz Canal, through the Boondall Wetlands to Sandgate and the over the Bridge to Redcliffe and have coffee at Neli Coffee http://www.nelicoffee.com.au/

I’m not certain of the distance but around 30 kms each way so perhaps 1 ½ hours plus return plus coffee so say a total of 3 3/4 hours in total. A shorter ride could be done by moving the meeting place to either the Environment Centre at the Boondall Wetlands or to Sandgate.

On a Saturday Neli are open from 08:00 to 14:00

This is only a suggestion so what does everyone think?

Agree with Lydia, Veneziano is well worth a stop if you are in the area.

-> David what is the loop to red cliff? I rode up there today but had the same route there and back.

Will check out the coffee for sure though

If you are working around the city or in the West End area, definitely drop by Veneziano Caffe (369 Montague Road). There is plenty of space to sit, read or chat. The coffee is amazing and there are bicycle racks just outside. You can bring your kids too, they have cute little tables and chairs for them. :)
