Turned out okay, there was a spare conference room I parked in :-)

The edge facilities (state library) were really interesting - 3d printers, laser cutting tables, pc labs, raspberry pi hacking, all sorts of stuff - free to use, just pay for your own consumables.

Hmmm, just thinking Matt, If I had to ride to the city and park my bike they surely couldn't discriminate surely so they must be able to accommodate recumbent trikes. I am not suggesting you pretend you have that need ,but I just don't think they could refuse surely? Maybe ask someone higher up their food chain.

According to the website it's $15 for a bike parking day pass.

Ah, that would be perfect - seems I need to have a chat to them face to face, if their phone minion is just telling me rules off a sheet.

Cheers - will see how it goes :-)

Yes you are correct Aaron.

I just had a quick look at the video on the C2C website and it didn't show it clearly, but the bit opposite the lady behind the counter just at the entry (come through the key pass door and hang a hard right)  is where the non standard bikes were parked, sop basically right at the front under the eye of the workers.

I thought the KGS bike parking provider was Cycle2City.

Is that a lockup cage thing?

I can chain the velo to a bike rack in a worst case scenario, but it's such a tempting target for people to poke around inside. Would feel much happier with something a bit more secure - even if it's paid.

I've seen non standard bikes in the King George Square bike parking when I went for a tour there years ago.  There was a Greenspeed trike amongst them IIRC.  They were parked off to one side leaving against a wall.

Any ideas for day-parking a velo in the city?

Have a meeting around wintergarden, and Cycle2City told me they will only handle 2 wheel standard boring bikes :-(

Hi James Veitch

Noel Sopeer and I are going on Greenspeed GT3 trikes though we haven't organised an official meeting point.  I guess we'll just look out for recumbent flags.  Noel is doing the 50k and I'm doing a relatively slow 25k.  If you do the 100 we will round out the recumbent team with one represented in each category!  I've not done the ride before but Noel has.  If it is flat paved country roads, then I'm looking forward to the ride even more.  See you there.

cheers

Recrider
