The 1200kmsforkids Charity Bike Ride was conceived back in 2005 by Gary Richardson and Trevelyan Bale. The two friends were looking for a way to give back to the hospitals that had effortlessly helped their sick children.
Over a beer or two, the idea was born to form a group and cycle 1,200 kilometres in 5 days to raise as much money as possible for the Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick and the Royal Children’s Hospital Brisbane.
All the money raised by 1200kmsforkids goes to the Sydney Royal Children's Hospital Randwick and the Royal Children's Hospital Brisbane, and helps fund:
* Lifesaving medical equipment
* Research programs
* Paediatric training
* Volunteer services
* Children entertainment services

Mission:
This October, 30 dedicated cyclists and their support crew will depart from Sydney to ride 1,200 kilometres in five days along the east coast of Australia to Brisbane.
Their aim:
To raise $300,000 for seriously ill children and their families. Experience the joy and excitement of the 1200kmsforkids Charity Bike Ride.
