Cycling in Brisbane Australia

Hi all

Hope everyone is safe and dry where they are. Our street is supposed to flood but we're pretty sure our house up on it's little rise will be fine!

We have lost power though, so considering staying with family for a day or two.

Also, I'm due to fly out to ADL in the morning to cover the TDU! So we'll see.

Stay safe everyone and good luck!

I hope you all got through this time OK.  :)

There were half a dozen bike in the bike cage at work when it all went under so there will be some damaged bikes out there.  Still, it's not really important compared to the losses being felt by some people.

Yep we were fine. It didn't end up coming anywhere close to our place. Power came back on in the afternoon too, which was nice. A bunch of people I know still don't have any.

We made it out for Adelaide too, just had to negotiate the Gateway opening and closing at 5am.

Thanks Damian

Yeah I ok but I've been out to Jindalee this morning and cleaning up the bowls clubs.  What a mess they go smashed. There were 5 buses 45 people in each and that was just the morning shift. Looked like 100's more at MtCootha for arvo shift.  Brisbane your fantastic. Wish I was at that TDU instead of cleaning up mud.  But hey you do what you gotta do.

I do feel bad being down at the TDU while there is so much work being done in Brisbane. But the trip was booked and my little boy's heart would have been broken had we cancelled. I did some volunteer work before the floods hit, and will no doubt be involved again when I return though.
